How Has COVID Affected Skip Hire in Bolton

These are strange times – not least for people in the service industry such as the team at A1 Skip Hire in Bolton!

Waste disposal specialists throughout the area are coming up against challenges we haven’t experienced before, but we know that our clients rely on us to help them stick to their plans and keep building projects, home clearouts, refurbishments and other activities ticking over.

So how exactly has the COVID-19 pandemic affected skip hire in Bolton and the surrounding area, and what are we doing to keep ourselves – and our clients – safe?

COVID’s Impact

The pandemic has had a surprising effect on skip hire in Preston, Bolton, Chorley, Leyland, Wigan and other Lancashire centres; we’ve never been busier!

In fact, throughout April 2020 – the height of the lockdown – we could hardly get our skips out to customers fast enough!

As a result of the furlough scheme and the push for members of the general public to stay at home, people were keeping themselves busy with spring cleaning, DIY, house clearouts and renovations that they hadn’t managed to get round in the past.

For some, there was also a knock-on effect regarding general waste and recycling collection. Certain neighbourhoods experienced a reduced service due to restrictions, safety measures and reduced staffing – so smaller skips were sometimes hired as an alternative solution to this.

Moving Forwards

We’re seeing the tail end of the boom, but because businesses are now back up and running, the industrial hire side of skip hire in Leyland, Bolton and our other popular neighbourhoods – which, during lockdown, had significantly reduced – is very much back in the game.

So it’s pretty much business as usual for the team at A1 Skip Hire, except, of course, for the extra precautions that we all need to take for our own safety and yours.

We’re required to wear PPE and maintain social distancing when interacting with our colleagues and clients. We try to avoid sharing vehicles and work individually where possible, and all of our equipment must remain sanitised at all times.

Additionally, we are now only accepting card payments rather than cash transactions to prevent contact-related transmission.

We do this to help prevent the spread of infection and to protect our valued customers, so that we can continue to provide much-needed waste disposal services and help you to maintain some sense of normality.

To help us go about our work and continue to provide top notch skip hire in Wigan, Chorley and the surrounding areas, please keep following government guidance and take all precautions necessary – not only when interacting with A1 Skip Hire staff but in everything you do.

Hopefully, as time goes on, we’ll be able to enjoy a more relaxed approach to both work and life in general and go about our business with a sense of safety and comfort.
